BUILD GREEN'S PHILOSOPHY

Energy is a very precious and expensive resource. We help our clients to use as little energy  as possible and maximise the amount of energy you can produce with your building. This creates huge savings and can turn your house from an asset that used to have running cost into an asset that creates income.

REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Our first goal is to reduce the amount of energy that your building consumes as much as possible. That is achieved by
optimising the design of the building (solar gain principle etc.) and by creating a state of the art building envelope. As a result the inside temperature only has to be adapted by a minimal amount. On most days "Build Green houses" don't need heating or cooling at all (passive house). Build Green has extensive international experience with Hebel walls.

HOUSE TECHNOLOGY

We love technology, however our approach is to have as little as possible of it - while still maintaining highest comfort levels in your house. This is possible if the shell of the house has been designed and built in a "Build Green" way. The small amounts energy for heating and cooling can then be created very economically using a heat pump (heat pump hot water and split systems). So the running and maintenance cost of your building are extremely low.

PRODUCE ENERGY

As Build Green" houses do not burn any fossil fuels, all the consumed energy can be completely offset - meaning the building can produce the same amount or more energy than what is consumes (carbon neutral or carbon positive). In Australia the easiest way to do this is to harness the sun. We plan and install state of the art solar PV systems to optimise the amount and also the time of the day when the energy is produced.

OPTIMISE ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Utilising smart appliances and connected house technology enables us to use most of the energy at the same time as when it is created. A hot water heat pump unit for example can store excess energy that is produced by the solar PV system in the hot water tank - a bit like a "completely green battery".

So you don't rely on government policies or feedback tariffs as you use up the energy you produce yourself.
